Palm Springs Pride, the organizer of the city’s annual Pride celebrations in November, is thrilled to announce the return of the BIG Gay BBQ, a two-day block party with delicious BBQ, friends, fun, and community spirit. Mark your calendars for June 7th and 8th, 2024, as the Arenas District comes alive from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm daily with DJs and live bands.
This year marks the BIG Gay BBQ’s second iteration, and it promises to be bigger, bolder, and more delicious than ever. Located on Arenas Rd between Indian Canyon Dr and Calle Encilia, the event boasts a lineup of six barbecue masters ready to satisfy your taste buds. From classic favorites like smoked pulled pork and baby back ribs to savory brisket, turkey, and chicken, there’s something for every craving.
The culinary adventure includes a selection of sides, including tangy BBQ beans, creamy coleslaw, and decadent baby back mac and cheese. And for those with a sweet tooth, tempting desserts like peach cobbler, banana pudding, and irresistible homemade cookies await.
“This is the 13th year Palm Springs Pride has been creating extraordinary experiences on Arenas Rd,” says Ron deHarte, President and CEO of Palm Springs Pride. “The BIG Gay BBQ is a unique June Pride month celebration for the Palm Springs community. As the sun sets and the desert cools down, the Arenas District will be the place to gather with friends, have fun, and celebrate Pride.”
Admission to the BIG Gay BBQ is entirely FREE, making it the perfect opportunity to gather in the Arenas District for an evening filled with delicious food and festive vibes. Whether you’re a barbecue enthusiast or simply looking for a fun-filled celebration, everyone is welcome to join the party. Corday and the Magic 70s band, fronted by award-winning charismatic singer-guitarist Jennifer Corday, will perform live on both nights. Corday is the first-ever three-time winner of Best Live Band, Best Alternative Band, Best Live Female Performer at the Orange County Music Awards, Best Pop Rock Band at the Southern California Music Awards, and Outstanding Orange County Artist at the L.A. Music Awards. DJ Galaxy and DJ Modgril will spin during the weekend event.
